ANKARA (AA) - Barcelona's Nikola Mirotic on Wednesday was named the 2021-22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the regular season.
In a statement, EuroLeague said the 31-year-old was chosen for the award by fans, media, head coaches, and team captains.
Mirotic was earlier honored with the MVP of the Month award in October and December.
He was also included in the All-EuroLeague First Team for a second time in a row.
The Spanish basketball player averaged 16.6 points in this season's 36 games.
He joined Barcelona from NBA's Milwaukee Bucks in 2019, and has also played for Real Madrid, and NBA franchises such as Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans.
The experienced forward helped his native Spain win gold in the EuroBasket 2015.
He also won bronze with Spain in the 2016 Olympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro.
