ISTANBUL (AA) - Medipol Basaksehir suffered a blow in the Turkish football league title race after drawing with Caykur Rizespor on Sunday.
At home in Istanbul, Basaksehir drew with Caykur Rizespor 1-1 in the league on Sunday evening and remained at top with 62 points, just three points more than their closest challenger Galatasaray, in the Week 29 of Turkey's Spor Toto Super Lig.
Caykur Rizespor's Vedat Muriqi scored at 62nd minute while Basaksehir scored their goal with Edin Visca from a penalty shot during extra time.
Galatasaray defeated Istikbal Mobilya Kayserispor 3-1 on Saturday evening to continue chasing the title. Galatasaray increased its points total to 59 after the victory.
Basaksehir will play against Galatasarasay in an away match in the week of 33. If Basaksehir lose, Galatasaray may have a big chance to finish at top.
