ANKARA (AA) - Bayern Munich on Monday acquired Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig.
In a statement, the defending German champions said that the 27-year-old attacking midfielder penned a contract until 2025.
"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to play for FC Bayern. As a child my Bayern jersey was my pride and joy -- I got a new one at Christmas every year. I'll give everything for this club, I want to win as many matches as possible and of course collect lots of titles," Sabitzer said.
Sabitzer began his career in Austria's Admira Wacker before his move to Rapid Vienna in 2013.
In 2014, German club RB Leipzig signed him on.
He had a one-season loan spell in Austria's Red Bull Salzburg.
Sabitzer returned to RB Leipzig in 2015 and played there until 2021.
The Austrian international scored 52 goals and produced 42 assists in 229 matches for RB Leipzig.
