ANKARA (AA) - Bayern Munich have acquired Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt from Italy's Juventus, the German football club said on Tuesday.
"FC Bayern have signed defender Matthijs de Ligt from Italian record champions Juventus. The 22-year-old Dutch international has agreed a contract until 30 June 2027," Bayern Munich said in a statement.
De Ligt, who plays as a central defender, represented the Netherlands' Ajax before his move to Juventus in 2019.
He scored eight goals in 117 matches for Juventus, and also helped the Turin club win the 2020 Italian Serie A title.
De Ligt amassed 38 international caps for the Netherlands and scored two goals for his nation.
In the 2022 summer transfer window, Bayern Munich signed Sadio Mane, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui.
