ANKARA (AA) – Alpecin-Fenix cyclist Jasper Philipsen won the seventh stage of Tour de France on Friday.
The Belgian athlete made 3 hours, 46 minutes and 28 seconds in the stage, while Astana Qazaqstan Team's Mark Cavendish finished second with four seconds behind.
Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert Materiaux rider Biniam Girmay finished third, two seconds behind Cavendish.
Jumbo-Visma's Jonas Vingegaard took over the lead in general ranking with 29 hours, 57 minutes, 12 seconds and 11 seconds bonus time.
UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar is ranked second, while Bora-Hansgrohe cyclist Jai Hindley is placed third in the general ranking.
The eight stage of the tour between Libourne and Limoges will be held on Saturday.
