ISTANBUL (AA) – Belgium defeated Spain 79-66 to advance to the Olympic basketball women's semifinals for the first time on Wednesday.
Kyara Linskens scored 19 points and nine rebounds, while Emma Meesseman produced 19 points and eight rebounds at Bercy Arena.
Julie Vanloo and Antonia Delaere scored 13 points each for the Belgians.
The Spanish national team had two double-digit scorers, Megan Gustafson was the highest scorer of the game with 21 points and seven rebounds and, Maite Cazorla finished with 13 points.
Earlier Wednesday, Australia qualified for the semifinals with an 85-67 win against Serbia.
Germany will face France and the United States will take on Nigeria later in the day.
