ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish football giants Fenerbahce on Thursday transferred in Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan.
The dual nationality -- Turkish-German -- footballer joined Fenerbahce from their rival Besiktas, Fenerbahce announced in a statement.
The deal will keep Tolgay at Fenerbahce for four-and-a-half years with a one-year option.
The 28-year-old footballer played 16 matches and scored one goal in Besiktas this season.
The struggling Yellow Canaries have been suffering the worst season in their history, with only four wins in 18 outings prior to Friday's match.
Fenerbahce are now in 14th place, only three points from the bottom of the league and a distant 21 points from the top, currently held by Medipol Basaksehir.
The transfer window for Turkish clubs will close tonight at 12 midnight (2100GMT).
