ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul side Besiktas on Monday denied Wout Weghorst's possible transfer to Manchester United.
In an official statement, the Black Eagles stressed that there is no exit clause stating that Weghorst's contract can be terminated with compensation of €2.5 million ($2.69 million).
The Istanbul club said the initiative regarding a possible transfer is entirely theirs.
The 30-year-old is rumored to be on Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag's shortlist as a possible replacement for Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club in November.
The Dutch forward joined Besiktas from English club Burnley on a loan last July.
