ANKARA (AA) - Turkish powerhouse Besiktas on Wednesday announced a one-season transfer of Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi, 27, joined the Istanbul football club on loan for one season from Chelsea, said Besiktas’s official website.
On Twitter, the Belgian forward called the move an incredible opportunity, adding that he is already looking to play.
Batshuayi also thanked fans for their “crazy welcome at Istanbul."
Chelsea on Wednesday also announced that even as the Besiktas loan goes forward, Batshuayi has extended his contract at the English club until 2023.
Batshuayi played for such big clubs as Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, and Valencia before moving to English Premier League giant Chelsea.
He helped the English club win one Premier League title with 25 goals and 6 assists in 77 matches.
Batshuayi has also scored 22 goals in 35 caps for Belgium.
Besiktas won the 2020-2021 season Turkish Super Lig title.
