ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas seek their first Champions League win of the season as they are hosting Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam at Vodafone Park on Wednesday.
Having failed to meet expectations in Europe, Besiktas bottom Group C without any point to be already eliminated from the 2021-22 Champions League.
Ajax top the group with 12 points by winning all matches to make it to the last 16.
Bosnian referee Irfan Peljto will officiate the match that will take place at 1745GMT in Istanbul.
Besiktas will be without injured left back Ridvan Yilmaz and central midfielder Josef de Souza, who was shown a red card in the previous match against Sporting in Lisbon.
Meanwhile, the other teams of the group, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting are in a fierce battle for the ticket to the last 16.
Both teams have so far collected six points in Group C.
The clash between these two in Lisbon on Wednesday is likely to shape their future in the European campaign.
Dortmund may lack their German central defender Mats Hummels as the 32-year-old is suspended.
