ANKARA (AA) - Besiktas won against Turkish Super Lig leaders Aytemiz Alanyaspor 2-0 in Sunday's match to end the six-game unbeaten run of the visitors.
In the 50th minute of the match, home team Besiktas were awarded a penalty after their French winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou was fouled in the penalty box.
Besiktas' Turkish forward Burak Yilmaz scored the penalty kick in the 52nd minute at Vodafone Park to give the 1-0 lead for his team.
Black Eagles doubled the gap in the 69th minute when their Malian winger Abdoulay Diaby made a close range finish. Yilmaz produced the assist.
Diaby's goal clinched the victory for Besiktas.
Besiktas' Turkish midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz faced a major knee injury so he had to go off in the 73rd minute. Tokoz was said to have a twisted knee.
Similar to Tokoz, Besiktas' N'Koudou had to leave the pitch due to an injury in the additional time.
After week seven Aytemiz Alanyaspor were still the Super Lig leaders, having 14 points in the league table.
Besiktas went up to the 12th spot in standings as they had 8 points.
Following Sunday's win at home, Besiktas ended their poor form in the league.
The Black Eagles earned their last Super Lig win on Aug. 23 against Goztepe by 3-0.
