WASHINGTON (AA) - US-based aerospace company Boeing said Monday that it will lay off 396 employees in the state of Washington as part of a plan to reduce its workforce by 10%.
According to a notice filed with the Washington State Employment Security Department, Boeing will lay off the employees in February next year.
Boeing announced plans for measures such as a hiring freeze, travel freeze and suspension of non-essential spending to cut costs after factory workers went on strike in September.
The company announced in October that it planned to reduce its workforce by 10%.
In a similar notice in November, the company said it would lay off more than 2,500 workers in Washington, Oregon, South Carolina and Missouri.
