ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index ended at a record high of 8,337.67 points on Thursday, soaring by 1.91%, or 156 points, from the previous close.
The lowest value of Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index during the day was 8,218.47, with the highest at 8,358.03.
The market value of the BIST 100 was around 7 trillion Turkish liras ($264.2 billion) by market close, while the daily trading volume was 76.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).
Some 79 stocks gained value, while 19 declined.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,942.70, while Brent crude oil sold for $90.3 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.8390, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.7450, and the British pound traded at 33.4680 Turkish liras.
