ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul’s BIST 100 shares were down 321.96 points at the start of business on Wednesday.
The market went down 0.29 percent to open at 109,317.16 points.
Stocks in the banking and holding sectors decreased by 0.42 and 0.28 percent respectively.
Among all sectors, the food and beverage sector was the best performer with 0.43 percent while the leasing and factoring sector index started the day with the biggest decline, 0.55 percent.
Turkey’s benchmark stock index previously decreased by 0.13 percent to close at 109,639.12 points on Tuesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 142.01 points with a total trading volume of 4.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.36 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.5350 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared with 3.5290 at Tuesday's close.
