ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 started the day down 156.39 points or 0.15 percent, reaching 104,177.92 points on Friday.
On the last transaction day of the week, the banking and holding sectors indices dropped 0.31 percent and 0.01 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the metal products machinery sector index was the best performer, rising 0.16 percent, while the tourism sector index fell the most, with a 1.09 percent decline.
The BIST 100 was down 0.2 percent or 213.55 points to close at 104,334.31 points on Thursday with a trading volume of 4.3 billion Turkish liras (around $1.2 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 3,5980 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared with 3.5730 at Thursday’s close.
