ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index fell 0.34 percent or 403.49 points to open at 118,428.11 points on Wednesday.
The banking and holding sector indices lost 0.60 percent and 0.15 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the textile leather sector index was the best performer, gaining 0.15 percent, and the tourism sector index saw the biggest fall, losing 0.89 percent.
Turkey's exports in January totaled around $12.5 billion, up 10.7 percent compared to the same month in 2017, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced Wednesday.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went up to 3.8060 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Tuesday's closing rate of 3.7900.
The euro/lira rate fell to 4.6540 on Wednesday morning, compared with 4.6600 at the previous day's close.
The price of Brent oil was $66.18 per barrel as of 09.34 a.m. local time (0634GMT) Wednesday, versus $66.70 at close on Tuesday.
