ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,180.49 points on Friday, a slight rise of 0.04% or 0.47 points from the previous close.
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.06% at 1,180.02 points, with a daily trading volume of 24.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.87 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 8.4490 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 8.4510 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was down to 9.9860 from 9.9950, while one British pound traded for 11.1120 Turkish liras, up from 11.0950.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $40.02 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
