ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,086.09 points on Wednesday, rising slightly by 0.08% or 0.9 points from the previous close.
At Tuesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.61% at 1,085.19 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.8 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 7.3750 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 7.3550 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.7760, versus 8.7860, while one British pound traded for 9.8800 Turkish liras, down from 9.9270.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $46 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
