ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day with a 91.02-point or 0.09 percent decrease to open at 100,718.02 points on Friday.
The banking sector index declined by 0.04 percent while the holding sector rose 0.12 percent.
Among all sectors, the construction sector index was the best performer with a 1.21 percent rise, while the chemical petrol plastic sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.47 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.6320 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared with 3.6220 at Thursday’s close.
The BIST 100 was down 117.45 points or 0.12 percent to close at 100,627.01 points on Thursday, with a total trading volume of 4.6 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.27 billion).
