ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark BIST 100 stock index slipped 0.04 percent or 41.06 points to open at 117,175.22 points on Monday.
The banking and holding sector indices lost 0.11 percent and 0.07 percent, respectively.
The leasing factoring sector index was the best performer, gaining 1.03 percent, while the sports sector saw the biggest fall, losing 1.40 percent.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 117,216.28, rising 0.01 percent with a 5.58 billion-Turkish lira ($1.43 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.9310 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared with Friday's closing rate of 3.9110.
The euro/lira rate climbed to 4.8220, compared with 4.8060 on Friday's close.
The price of Brent oil dropped to $65.94 per barrel as of 9.38 a.m. local time (0638GMT) Monday, versus $66.21 at close on Friday.
