ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, rose 0.05 percent, or 55.08 points, to open at 118,321.95 points on Wednesday.
While the banking sector index slightly rose 0.02 percent, the holding sector index saw a minor decrease, down 0.02 percent.
Among all sectors, the textile leather sector index was the best performer -- up 0.75 percent -- and the insurance sector index fell 0.37 percent, the biggest drop of the opening.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 118,266.86 points, dropping 0.12 percent, with a 6.7 billion-Turkish lira ($1.73 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 3.8620 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared with Tuesday's closing rate of 3.8620.
The euro/lira rate increased to 4.7920, compared with 4.7780 on Tuesday's close.
The price of Brent Oil was $64.50 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
