ANKARA (AA) - The Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index rose 0.07 percent to open at 86,293.80 points on Tuesday.
The benchmark index of Turkey's sole stock exchange increased 56.26 points in the first transactions of the day.
Turkey's banking sector index was down 0.07 while the holding sector index rose by 0.25 percent.
Tourism was the best performer among sub-indices, rising by 0.62 percent. The biggest drop was in the investment trusts sector, which fell 0.26 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 3.7990 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, compared with 3.8090 at Monday's close.
Analysts said investors will focus on the first inflation report of 2017 to be announced later by Turkish Central Bank.
Gold held at $1,200.4 an ounce.
U.S. crude futures declined 0.32 percent to $52.46 a barrel, while benchmark Brent crude futures dropped 0.13 percent to $55.25.
