ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 started the day up 166.55 points or 0.16 percent, reaching 106,098.79 points on Friday.
The banking and holding sectors indices rose 0.02 percent and 0.17 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the metal information technology sector index was the best performer, rising 1.39 percent, while the construction sector index fell the most, with a 0.28 percent decline.
The BIST 100 was up 2.04 percent or 2,116.20 points to close at 105,932.25 points on Thursday with a trading volume of 5.2 billion Turkish liras (around $1.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 3,6460 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared with 3.6590 at Thursday’s close.
