ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 increased by 92.55 points or 0.09 percent to open at 108,952.17 points on Tuesday.
The banking sector and holding sector indices rose 0.17 and 0.27 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the tourism sector index was the best performer, gaining 1.12 percent, whereas the communication sector index saw the biggest decline with 0.46 percent.
Turkey's benchmark stock index previously closed the day down 0.08 percent at 108,859.62 points with a trade volume of 6.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.77 billion) on Monday.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 3.8780 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.8860 at Monday's close.
In addition, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 4.5270 at 9.30 a.m. local time Tuesday, compared with 4.5330 at Monday's close.
Brent oil decreased to $62.81 per barrel at 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT) compared with $63.54 at Monday's close.
