ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened the day at 1,532,93 points on Wednesday, down 0.01%, or 0.11 points from the previous close.
At Tuesday's close Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down by 0.21% to 1,533.05 points, ending 10 consecutive days of posting gains, with a daily trading volume of 20.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.19 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 9.6350 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 9.5940.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 11.1620, compared to 11.1160, while one British pound traded for 13.1700 Turkish liras, up from 13.1020.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $83.5 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
