ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index was down 0.02 percent at the opening of the daily session Tuesday after rising 1.7 percent on Monday.
The benchmark index decreased slightly by 11.85 points to open at 76,699.83.
On Monday, the total trading volume stood at 2.9 billion Turkish liras (nearly $1 billion). The recovery in world equity markets has taken a hiatus with the re-emergent significance of oil prices, which have declined due to concerns of oversupply.
"The BIST is likely to remain more responsive to domestic developments this week, while also continuing to trace the course of major international markets," Istanbul-based Seker Investment said in a client note on Tuesday.
No major local data announcements are due Tuesday. However, the market will be following June personal income and spending data from the U.S.
