ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,124.93 points on Monday, rising 0.07% or 0.76 points from the previous close.
At the last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.41% at 1,124.17 points, with a daily trading volume of some 21.3 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went up at 7.6940 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.6250 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly slipped to 8.9510 from 8.9620, while one British pound traded for 9.8530 Turkish liras, up from 9.8480.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $42 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
