ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose by 0.29 percent or 343 points to open at 118,947.05 points on Friday.
The banking and holding sector indices were up by 0.18 percent and 0.41 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the telecommunication sector index was the best performer, gaining 0.93 percent, while the leasing factoring sector index saw the biggest decline, falling 0.30 percent.
Turkey's benchmark stock index previously closed Thursday down 0.87 percent at 118,604.05 points with a 7.8-billion-Turkish lira ($2.08 billion) trade volume.
The USD/Turkish lira rate rose to 3.7440 at 9.45 a.m. local time (0645GMT) on Friday, compared with the previous day's closing rate of 3.7190.
However, the euro/lira rate slightly went down to 4.6610 from Thursday's close of 4.6630.
Brent oil decreased to $70.16 per barrel at 9.27 a.m. local time (0627GMT) compared with $70.87 at Thursday's close.
