ANKARA (AA) - The BIST 100 index surged 113.86 points to open at 77,086.00 points on Monday.
On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index advanced by 0.15 percent while the banking index increased by 0.21 percent and the holding sector fell by 0.04 percent.
Among the sub-indices, the mining sector increased the most, by 0.97 percent, while the investment trusts sector index saw a drop of 0.28 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went slightly down to 3.5100 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Monday, compared with 3.5130 at Friday's close.
Gold held at $1,133.3 an ounce.
U.S. crude futures rose by 0.53 percent to $53.23 a barrel, while benchmark Brent crude futures was flat at $55.90.
