ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 increased 0.43 percent to open at 115,317.81 points on Tuesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 496.21 points from Monday's close of 114,821.60. The banking and holding sectors were up 0.50 and 0.22 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the leasing and factoring sector index was the best performer -- up 1.33 percent -- while only the construction sector index saw a slight decrease of 0.23 percent.
The U.S. dollar dropped to 3.7980 Turkish liras at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Monday's closing rate of 3.8080.
The euro-lira rate also climbed to 4.6820 from the previous day’s close of 4.6650.
The price of Brent oil rose to $62.98 per barrel as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT) Tuesday, compared with $62.59 at Monday's close.
