ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, rose 0.68 percent or 789,43 points to open at 117,703.96 points on Monday.
The banking and holding sector indices rose 0.92 percent and 0.62 percent, respectively.
All sector indices gained value while the informatics sector index was the best performer, increasing 1.09 percent.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 116,914.52, rising by 0.30 percent with a 4.7 billion-Turkish lira ($1.2 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly declined to 3.8100 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared with Friday's closing rate of 3.8130.
The euro/lira rate slipped to 4.6940, compared with 4.7170 on Friday's close.
The price of Brent oil increased to $65.44 per barrel as of 9.26 a.m. local time (0626GMT) Monday, versus $64.30 at close on Friday.
