ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 started the day up 354.17 points or 0.33 percent, reaching 107,560.48 points on Wednesday.
The banking and holding sector indices rose 0.36 percent and 0.28 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the tourism sector index was the best performer, rising 0.84 percent, while only the construction sector index fell, seeing a 0.11 percent decline.
The BIST 100 decreased slightly 0.09 percent to close at 107,206.31 points on Tuesday with a trading volume of 5.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.59 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly rose to 3.7340 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Wednesday, compared with 3.7250 at Tuesday’s close.
Brent crude oil price climbed to $58.37 per barrel on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) compared with $57.65 at 06.00 p.m. local time (0300GMT) at Tuesday.
