ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose 370.31 points or 0.34 percent to open at 110,512.91 points on Wednesday.
The banking and holding sector indices rose 0.34 and 0.46 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the electricity sector index performed the best, gaining 1.25 percent.
Turkey's benchmark stock index previously closed Tuesday up 1.55 percent at 110,142.60 points with a trade volume of 7.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.89 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 3.7970 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared with 3.8040 at Tuesday's close.
In addition, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 4.4200 at 9.30 a.m. local time Wednesday, compared with 4.4270 at Tuesday's close.
The price of Brent crude oil price rose to $61.30 per barrel on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. local time, up from $60.47 at 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) the previous day.
