ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 increased 0.73 percent to open at 115,328.89 points on Wednesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 834.39 points from Tuesday's close of 114,494.50 points.
The banking and holding sectors were up 0.97 and 0.44 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, transportation sector index was the best performer -- gaining 1.03 percent; meanwhile, leasing factoring sector index has seen the biggest fall -- down by 0.27 percent.
The U.S. dollar dropped to 3.8040 Turkish liras at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Tuesday's closing rate of 3.8050.
However, the euro-lira rate climbed to 4.7100 from the previous day’s close of 4.6980.
The price of Brent oil rose to $62.77 per barrel as of 9.15 a.m. local time (0615GMT) Wednesday, compared with $62.11 at Tuesday's close.
