ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index slipped Friday on the back of a decline in risk appetite, as almost all major stock markets turned red.
The BIST 100 index closed the day at 77,053.54 points, down 1.01 percent or 789.95 points, on profit-taking action as global market sentiment turned negative and Turkish economic growth slowed in the second quarter of 2016.
The U.S. dollar advanced on all emerging markets' currency units.The U.S. dollar versus the Turkish lira, which started early trading from 2.9535, rose to 2.9720 at 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT).
