ANKARA (AA) - The Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index rose 0.83 percent -- 732.46 points -- Monday to open at 89,121.97 points.
Turkey’s banking and holding sector indices were up 1.07 and 0.70 percent respectively.
The banking sector was the best performing sub-index. The biggest drop was in the sports sector, which fell 0.07 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate declined to 3.6880 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 3.6970 at Friday's close.
Gold held at $1,223.57 an ounce.
U.S. crude futures increased 0.43 percent to $54.06 a barrel while benchmark Brent crude futures rose 0.42 percent to $57.05.
