ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened the week at a record high of 1,672.35 points on Monday, up 2.07%, or 33.85 points from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed the last week at 1,638.50 points, increasing by 13.44 points, with a daily trading volume of 21.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 10.0280 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 9.9670.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 11.4940, compared to 11.3970, while one British pound traded for 13.5000 Turkish liras, up from 13.3730.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $81.2 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
