ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 1,896.82 points, up 0.89%, or 16.76 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.22% to close Thursday at 1,880.06 points, with a daily trading volume of 29.3 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 13.6560 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.6550 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was edged up to 15.4330 from 15.4320, while one British pound traded for 18.1720 Turkish liras, up from 18.1220.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $69.8 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
