ANKARA (AA) – The Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index rose 0.22 percent to open at 82,964.10 points on Thursday.
The benchmark index of Turkey's sole stock exchange climbed 0.22 percent, or 184.85 points in the first transactions of the day.
The banking and holding sector indices were up 0.20 and 0.17 percent, respectively.
The real estate investment trusts sector was the best performer among sub-indices, rising by 0.73 percent, while the food beverage industry sector was the only sub-index that experienced a loss of 0.07 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.7950 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared with 3.7820 at Wednesday's close.
Gold held at $1,201.47 an ounce.
U.S. crude futures rose by 0.92 percent to $51.55 a barrel, while benchmark Brent crude futures climbed 0.98 percent to $54.45.
