ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index edged up to open at 87,731.52 points on Monday.
The benchmark index of Turkey’s sole stock exchange was up 0.3 percent on Monday from last week’s close.
Last week the index suffered a loss of 1.53 percent at close due to wave of selling pressure during the last trading hours despite it surging to 89,370.08 within the day.
Experts forecast comments due in the U.S. Congress this week by Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and remarks from President Donald Trump to set the tone for markets.
The U.S. dollar versus Turkish lira rate was slightly down to 3.6930 upon market opening at 0700GMT compared with the previous market close of 3.6960.
