ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose 231.59 points, or 0.21 percent, to open at 109,281.08 points on Wednesday.
The banking sector and holding sector indices gained 0.30 percent and 0.34 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the tourism sector index was the best performer, rising 0.77 percent, while the mining sector index saw the biggest decline -- 3.76 percent.
Turkey's benchmark stock index previously closed the day at 109,049.50 points -- losing 0.10 percent -- with a 6.4-billion-Turkish lira ($1.7 billion) trade volume on Tuesday.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 3.8370 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Wednesday, compared with 3.8300 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 4.5140 at 9.30 a.m. local time Wednesday, compared with 4.4990 at the previous day's close.
Brent oil rose to $63.90 per barrel at 9.00 a.m. local time (0600GMT) compared with $64.58 at Tuesday's close.
