ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened the week at 1,471.86 points, down 0.55% or 8.07 points from the previous close.
At last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up by 1.68% to 1,479.93 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 9.7850 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 9.6020 at Friday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 11.4050, compared to 11.1780, while one British pound traded for 13.5100 Turkish liras, up from 13.2700.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $85 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
