ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,105.89 points on Monday, rising 0.29% or 3.19 points from the previous close.
At the last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.33% at 1,102.70 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.94 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.4870 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.4790 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 8.8690 from 8.8580, while one British pound traded for 9.6200 Turkish liras, up slightly from 9.6140.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $39.80 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
