ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index surged 135.92 points to open at 77,164.39 points on Tuesday.
On the second trading day of the week, the benchmark index advanced by 0.18 percent while the banking and holding sector indices advanced 0.16 and 0.25 percent, respectively.
Among the sub-indices, the mining sector increased the most, by 0.52 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went slightly up to 3.5100 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.5070 at Monday's close.
Gold held at $1,139.26 an ounce.
U.S. crude futures rose by 0.17 percent to $53.11 a barrel, while benchmark Brent crude futures slipped by 14 percent to at $55.82.
