ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.35 percent or 409.80 points to open at 117,611.34 points on Friday.
The banking and holding sector indices were up 0.39 percent and 0.46 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the leasing and factoring sector index was the best performer, gaining 0.78 percent, while the insurance sector index saw the biggest fall, losing 1.36 percent.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 closed at 117,201.54, down 0.33 percent, or 391.13 points, with a 5.68-billion-Turkish lira ($1.46 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dipped slightly to 3.8960 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Thursday's closing rate of 3.8980.
The euro/lira rate fell to 4.8000 on Friday morning, compared with 4.8110 at the previous day's close.
The price of Brent oil was $65.16 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Friday, versus $65.05 at close on Thursday.
