ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day with a 110.85-point increase to open at 100,855.30 points on Thursday.
On the fourth transaction day of the week, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.11 percent.
The banking and holding indices rose 0.10 percent and 0.23 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the investment trusts was the best performer with a 1.08 percent rise, while the insurance sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.33 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 3.6130 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared with 3.6030 at Wednesday’s close.
The BIST 100 was down 463.34-point or 0.46 percent to close at 100,744.45 points on Wednesday, with a total trading volume of 3.7 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.03 billion)
