ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started Tuesday with a 353.55-point increase to open at 107,884.99 points.
On the second transaction day of the week, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.33 percent.
The banking and holding indices rose 0.44 percent and 0.28 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indexes, the tourism sector performed best, up 1.10 percent, while the leather textile sector started the day with the biggest drop, down 0.63 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to at 3.5240 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.5280 at Monday's close.
