ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 started the day up 247.65 points or 0.24 percent, reaching 104,795.51 points on Thursday.
The banking and holding sectors indices rose 0.38 percent and 0.34 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the leasing factoring sector index was the best performer, rising 0.61 percent, while the wholesale and retail sector index fell most with a 0.52 percent decline.
The BIST 100 was up 0.62 percent or 640.29 points to close at 104,547.86 points on Wednesday with a trading volume of 5 billion Turkish liras (around $1.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 3.5770 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared with 3.5710 at Wednesday’s close.
