ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose 255.58 points or 0.24 percent to open at 108,722.36 points on Tuesday.
The banking and holding sector indices rose 0.30 and 0.20 percent respectively.
Among all sector indices, the mining sector index was the best performer, gaining 0.59 percent, while the real estate investment company sector index saw the biggest decline, down 0.36 percent.
Turkey's benchmark stock index previously closed Monday at 108,466.78 points, up 582.75 points, with a trade volume of 5 billion Turkish liras ($1.32 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 3.7730 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.7830 at Monday's close.
In addition, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 4.3940 at 9.30 a.m. local time Tuesday, compared with 4.3950 at Monday's close.
The price of Brent crude oil price rose to $60.49 per barrel on Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. local time, up from $60.23 at 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) the previous day.
