ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose 315.73 points, or 0.28 percent, to open at 112,210.27 points on Thursday.
The banking and holding sector indices increased 0.80 and 0.60 percent respectively.
Among all sector indices, the transportation sector index was the best performer, gaining 2.29 percent, while the chemistry, oil and plastic sector index saw the biggest decline with 3.60 percent.
Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the previous day down 0.34 percent at 111.894,54 points, with a trade volume of 7.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.01 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 3.8780 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared with 3.8760 at Wednesday's close.
In addition, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 4.5040 at 9.30 a.m. local time Thursday, compared with 4.4960 at Wednesday's close.
Brent oil increased to $63.59 per barrel at 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT) compared to $63.28 at Wednesday's close.
